III. An amount triples itself in 25 years at a simple rate of interest.

(a) I only
(b) II only
(c) I and III both
(d) Either I & II or III only
(e) None of these

Solutions:

  1. Ans (c)
    Total runs = 60×50 = 3000 runs
    After excluding two innings.
    Total runs = 48×58 = 2784 runs
    H + L = 216, and H – L = 180
    Lowest (L) = 18runs
  2. Ans (c)
    Salary spends in Household’s item = 50%
    Transport = 50% of remaining salary
    Entertainment and sports = (10 + 5) %
    Remaining salary Household’s item = 50%
    Transport = 50%
    Entertainment and sports = 85%
    Now, 1/2 * 1/2 * 17/20 * total salary = 1020
    Total salary = Rs. 4800
    Expenditure on transport = 4800 * 1/2 * 1/2 = Rs. 1200
  3. Ans (c)
    Let work done by B in one day be ‘x’
    So, work done by A in one day = 3x/2
    work done by C in one day = 2x
    C can alone complete the work in 9 days
    Total work = 9*2x = 18x
    Work done by A, B and C together in one day = 3x/2 + x + 2x = 9x/2
    Total days required to complete the work by them = 18x/(9x/2)=4 days
  4. Ans (d)
    1 day work when they work together
    = 1/2(1/15 + 1/20 + 1/12) = 1/2{(4 + 3 + 5)}/60 = 1/2 * 12/60 = 1/10
    Together they can complete in 10 days.
    A's alone one day work = (1/10 - 1/20) = 1/20
    A can alone complete this task = 20 day
  5. Ans (c)
    l = √(52+122) = 13
    Curved surface area = π* r * l = π* 12 * 13 =156 π
  6. Ans (c)
    Using Statement, I & II
    Speed = 350/12 = 29.16 m/s
    Using Statement, II & III
    Speed = (350*2)/36=19.45 m/s
  7. Ans (b)
    From Statement I
    (10x+y)  - (10y-x) = 27
    x-y = 3
    From Statement II
    X : y = 5 : 2
    From statement III
    x-y  = 3
    So the digit can be obtained by Either I and II together or II and III together
  8. Ans (c)
    The required answer can be obtained by using both Statement I & II,
    Statement III is irrelevant.
  9. Ans (c)
    From Statement III
    Perimeter = 4a = 56
    a = 14
    Area = a*a = 14*14 = 196
  10. Ans (d)
    From Statement I
    4800 = P*R*2/100
    PR = 240000
    From Statement II
    Difference = (PR^2)/〖100〗^2 =192
    R = 8%
    From Statement III
    2P = P*R*25/100
    R = 8%
