IBPS PO Examination is going to be held on 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th of October. Many of you must be worried about the Reasoning Section. Aspirants, worrying about things is not an option. The pattern of this Section is getting complex day by day and most of the topics of this section are now being asked in the form of puzzles only. Earlier students used to have a mindset of ignoring the complex puzzles, thereby solving the other questions that are comparatively easy. But to their dismay, this strategy won’t be working anymore as so many questions from the other topics like directions, etc. are being asked in the form of puzzles only. The number of questions being asked on puzzles ranges from 60-65% of all the questions in Reasoning Section. Here are the most important topics of reasoning section that you need to prepare for IBPS PO 2017.
Inequalities:
The other most important topic for IBPS PO Prelims Quant Section is Inequality. The number of expected questions on this particular topic is 5. It is one of the easiest topics in Reasoning. You will have the compare the quantities given to you and there will be statements followed by the given equation. You have to find out which of the statements is correct.Syllogism:
The number of expected questions on this topic is more than 6. The questions can be based on the usual old pattern as well as the new pattern of Reverse Syllogism in which the conclusion is given in the question and you have to choose the correct statements for that particular conclusion. It is one of the easiest and scoring topics so prepare it well and you will be able to bag 5 marks very easily in Reasoning Ability Section.
Data Sufficiency:
The questions based on data sufficiency can have 2 or 3 statements based on the difficulty level of the questions. If asked, there will be a total of 3-5 questions on this topic. Data Sufficiency is also an important topic that can get you at least 3 to 5 marks in the Reasoning Section. Coding-decoding:
The expected number of questions on coding-decoding is 5. This topic also comes under the category of easy articles. The questions may be based on old as well as new pattern coding-decoding.
Blood Relation:
The questions in this section test the candidate’s cognitive ability. The questions asked are very complex and convoluted but can be solved with ease if you have the basics of this topics all grasped. It can be asked in various forms, i.e. puzzles, mixed blood relation, coded blood relations, etc.
Puzzles and Seating Arrangement:
The puzzle is the most important topic of Reasoning Section as the number of expected questions from this topic is 20-23. Most of the other miscellaneous topics too are being asked in the form of puzzles only. The puzzles now being asked are very lengthy, complex and even calculation based. They are usually based on Seating Arrangement (linear, circular, triangular, rectangular and sometimes hexagonal even), Floors, Tabular form, Blood Relations, etc. and can be asked in 2-4 variables, depending on the difficulty level of the question. A mix of Seating Arrangement and Blood Relations is also being frequently asked in the examinations. Keep practicing, this is the only way out to deal with puzzles.
Order and Ranking:
The questions asked on this topic are comparatively easy and less complicated. Once you are used to solving questions on this topic, they would become easier and less time taking. You just need to practice the questions on a regular basis.
Alpha Numeric Symbol Series:
You will be given a series of numbers, symbols with a mix of alphabets based on a pattern. The series may also be based only on numbers or only on alphabets. The more you practice, the easier it is for you to identify the pattern hidden in the series.
Logical Reasoning:
The number of expected questions on this topic is 5-6. The questions asked in this section are based on cause and effect, a course of action, assumptions, and conclusions, strength of arguments, inference, etc. The level of questions has always been moderate so you can easily attempt the questions without wasting much of time on them.
