Cabinet Approvals on September 12 2017
On 12th September ,2017 the cabinet approved introduction of certain bills and MoU’s for the socio- economic welfare of the people residing within it.
1 – The cabinet approves the introduction of the Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, 2017 in the Parliament
This amendment will be beneficial for persons who are not covered under CCS (Pension) Rules, at par with Central Government employees. This Amendment will increase the maximum limit of gratuity of employees, in the private sector and in Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Organizations under Government of India.
2 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves development of six laning of Narasannapeta-Ranastalam section of National Highway (NH) – 16 in Andhra Pradesh
3 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves survey of Un-appraised Areas of Sedimentary Basins of India.
Details: –
1.      Project cost is Rs. 2932.99 crore spread over five years. The Target year is 2019-2020.
2.      National Oil Companies (NOCs) are meeting the fund requirement from their own sources, which will be reimbursed by the Government. The project will be implemented by NOCs, i.e. Oil India Limited (OIL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). OIL will conduct survey in North – Eastern States while remaining area will be covered by ONGC
3.      It will be monitored by Directorate General of on monthly basis.
4 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves doubling of Daund-Manmad Railway Line for promoting Speedy, Reliable & Safe Service

You all are well aware that the Preliminary phase of the IBPS RRB Exam for the post of Officer Scale-1 started from 9th September 2017. Today we are going to provide you with some Last Minute Tips for IBPS RRB Exam to give some final touches to your preparation and help you all strategist the exam in a better way.

Before we move to that, a clear idea of the structure of the exam is a must. The IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 exam pattern will consist of the following -
Reasoning Ability Hindi/ English- 40
Quantitative Aptitue Hindi/ English- 40
Composite time of 45 minutes
Total-80

Before you appear for IBPS RRB exam, take proper note of following –

1. Effective Time Management is a must to clear the exam. Do not try to solve each and every question. Select the questions you solve first carefully, keeping in mind your stronger areas. Try to first attempt the questions which are less time-consuming.

2. Speed and Accuracy are other important parameters that will help you clear this IBPS RRB exam. Make sure you maintain proper speed while solving the questions since the beginning.

3. Please keep in mind that there is Negative Marking of ¼ marks per question for each Wrong Answer.

Para jumbles are a very important topic of English section of most of the competitive exams. It is generally part of every IBPS examination.
In para jumbles, you have to rearrange the parts of a sentence into a meaningful sentence or sentences into a meaningful paragraph.

So, here we are discussing some tips that will help you to solve para jumbles easily.

TIPS for solving Para Jumbles:
1) Try to find out clues that will help us to locate qualifier
Clues include pronouns, like he, she, it, this, that, these, those; adverbs like formally, really; article a, an and the; definers like actually, finally, another; connectors like but, yet, both, also and neither nor, or, however, nevertheless. These can help us to find out the qualifiers.

Now the question arises is what is the meaning of qualifier?
1) Qualifier is a sentence that will tell us something about the following sentence.The following sentence is the Qualified sentence.

2) Locate a Qualifier
Now, with the help of clues, try to find out qualifier and qualified sentences, so that we can make pairs of qualified and qualifier sentences to eliminate the wrong choices given in the question.

3) Eliminate alternatives
After making pairs, start eliminating the wrong choices or options given in the question.

4) Read and try to follow the sequence
In case there is more than one choice, try to follow the sequence of sentences according to the occurrence of the events.

1. World Congress of Optometry begins in Hyderabad
The second World Congress of Optometry began in Hyderabad to discuss new ideas and share research and knowledge about various facets of optometry.
•    It will be focused on the future of optometry, upgrading optometrists' skills, as well as developing clinical and professional knowledge and skills.
•    The conference theme is ‘Accessible, quality vision and eye health’.
•    The biennial congress is a World Council of Optometry (WCO) initiative organised in partnership with the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry (APCO) and the India Vision Institute (IVI).

2. Centre allots Rs 60,000 cr to interlink rivers in Maharashtra
Union Water resources minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a Rs 60,000 crore plan to link rivers in the state.
•    Fadnavis and Gujarat CM Vinay Rupani will be soon signing a pact for river water sharing too to improve the water crisis situation in Maharashtra.
•    Gadkari said that the Centre will provide financial assistance to the tune of up to Rs 60,000 crore in the next two years to the state for developing river-linking and irrigation projects under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).

3. 80 lakh students to get enrolled under countrywide ‘school chalo abhiyan’
Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said the government will undertake a programme from next year to enrol “70-80 lakh” students in the country who are out of schools.
•    “There are about 70-80 lakh children who are not going to schools. We have thought of a plan to address the problem.It will be known as ‘school chalo abhiyan’,” Javadekar said.

1. Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Flags off Navika Sagar Parikrama
Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri flagged-off Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini (INSV Tarini) with an all women crew from INS Mandovi boat pool, Goa.
  • This is the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew and shall attempt to circumnavigate the globe on Indian Navy’s sailing vessel INSV Tarini.
  • The crew is expected to return to Goa in April 2018, on completion of the voyage.
  • The expedition will be covered in five legs, with stop-overs at 4 ports viz. Fremantle (Australia), Lyttleton (New Zealand), Port Stanley (Falklands), and Cape Town (South Africa).

2. Telangana Home Minister inaugurates water ATMs
Safe Water Network, an international NGO has partnered with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to launch water ATMs, providing affordable, 24x7 safe water access in Hyderabad.
  • The first of the ATMs was inaugurated by Telangana State Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy at Nalgonda X Roads.
  • A total of 200 ATMs will be set up to reach a targetted 150,000 people. In the first phase 50 water ATMs will be operationalised by next year.

  • Telangana is one of the 29 states in India, located in southern India. It was formed on 2 June 2014 as the youngest state in India.
  • It is the twelfth largest state in India, and the twelfth most populated state in India.
