Indian Navy commissions INS Tarasa, a Water Jet Fast Attack Craft at MumbaiOn 26th September 2017, INS Tarasa, a Water Jet Fast Attack Craft (FAC) was commissioned into the Indian Navy by Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command at the Naval Dockyard, in Mumbai.
i.INS Tarasa is 50 m long.It is powered by three water jets, with speed more than 35 knots (65 km/hr).It is equipped with a 30 mm main gun and several light, medium and heavy machine guns.
ii.INS Tarasa was built by the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.This is the last Water Jet Fast Attack Craft (FAC) built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE).
iii.This is the second ship of the Indian Navy to be named INS Tarasa. The first INS Tarasa was in service of the Navy from 1999 to 2014.

Home Minister launches Intelligence wing of Sashastra Seema Bal and WARB app
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has launched first Intelligence Wing of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Welfare & Rehabilita tion Board (WARB) App in New Delhi authorized to Protect the shared borders of India with Nepal and Bhutan. It has been confirmed as the Lead Intelligence Agency (LIA) for both the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan borders.
Need of Intelligence Wing of SSB  :-
i.SSB Director General Archana Ramasundaram informed that Intelligence Wing of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is used to prevent criminals and smugglers from taking advantage of the friendly borders with Nepal and Bhutan.
ii.The intelligence wing will have 650 field and staff agents to gather information about these borders frequently used by criminals and Kashmiri terrorists returning from Pakistan.
Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) App :-
Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) App implements to facilitate retired CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) and Assam Rifles personnel to get their grievances redressed, then can look for skill development training through National Skill Development Corporation under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna, re-employment and other relevant important information.

INS Garhial carries relief material under ‘operation Insaniyat’ for Rohingya refugees
India will be started ‘operation Insaniyat’ by INS Garhial to help Bangladesh for the Rohingya refugees. Indian Navy will carry around 86 thousand family packs as relief material in the ongoing operation.
·         The ship will be expected to reach Chittagong on 25th of this month. The ship carries relief material consisting of rice, pulses, sugar, salt, cooking oil, biscuits and mosquito nets will be provided to the affected people.
·         On 14th and 15th of September ,A C-17 Globemaster aircraft of the Indian Air Force delivered around 107 tonnes of relief material for Rohingya Muslim refugees in Bangladesh in two sorties to Chittagong.
Each jute bag based family pack has rations, toiletries and mosquito net. These have been handed over to District administration in Cox Bazar for distribution to refugees.

Cabinet Approvals on September 12 2017
On 12th September ,2017 the cabinet approved introduction of certain bills and MoU’s for the socio- economic welfare of the people residing within it.
1 – The cabinet approves the introduction of the Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, 2017 in the Parliament
This amendment will be beneficial for persons who are not covered under CCS (Pension) Rules, at par with Central Government employees. This Amendment will increase the maximum limit of gratuity of employees, in the private sector and in Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Organizations under Government of India.
2 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves development of six laning of Narasannapeta-Ranastalam section of National Highway (NH) – 16 in Andhra Pradesh
3 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves survey of Un-appraised Areas of Sedimentary Basins of India.
Details: –
1.      Project cost is Rs. 2932.99 crore spread over five years. The Target year is 2019-2020.
2.      National Oil Companies (NOCs) are meeting the fund requirement from their own sources, which will be reimbursed by the Government. The project will be implemented by NOCs, i.e. Oil India Limited (OIL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). OIL will conduct survey in North – Eastern States while remaining area will be covered by ONGC
3.      It will be monitored by Directorate General of on monthly basis.
4 – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves doubling of Daund-Manmad Railway Line for promoting Speedy, Reliable & Safe Service

Before we move to that, a clear idea of the structure of the exam is a must. The IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 exam pattern will consist of the following -
Reasoning Ability Hindi/ English- 40
Quantitative Aptitue Hindi/ English- 40

Before you appear for IBPS RRB exam, take proper note of following –

Mongolian lawmakers have voted to dismiss the Prime Minister and his Cabinet for alleged incompetence and corruption related to the signing of government contracts with companies linked to three Cabinet members.
  • A majority of lawmakers from the ruling Mongolian People's Party joined members of the opposition to pass the motion demanding that Prime Minister Jargaltulga Erdenebat and his 14-month-old Cabinet resign over the granting of contracts worth 328 million US Dollars.
  • The MPP controls 65 seats in the 76 member Great Hural, with the opposition Democratic Party and independents sharing the remainder. Out of 73 lawmakers present during the voting, 33 from the MPP and nine opposition and independent lawmakers voted for the dismissal.
  • Parliament is expected appoint a new Cabinet and Prime Minister in 45 days, and the current officials will continue serving in the interim.

Karnataka government will merge the existing seven health schemes to launch a unified health scheme- ‘Arogya Bhagya’. It will cover all 1.4 crore households of the state.

Government approves first phase of Army reforms
On 30th august ,2017, The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) approved implementation of the first phase of recommendations of Shekatkar Committee. This committee was formed to recommend measures to enhance combat capability and rebalancing Defence Expenditure of the Armed Forces with an aim to increase “teeth to tail ratio”, It had given 99 recommendations to the government on December 2016, out of which the Ministry of Defence has decided to implement 65 suggestions in phased manner.
